Carpal tunnel syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which the median nerve (extending from the forearm to the palm of the hand) becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. This condition is progressively painful, and results in weakness, numbness, and pain in the hand and wrist area.

Symptoms: The usual symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome include frequent burning, tingling, numbness in the palm of the hand and fingers. These symptoms progress and worsen over time, sometimes rendering the fingers useless and swollen.
