Constipation
A person is considered to be constipated when their bowel movements become difficult and infrequent. Normally, not having a bowel movement in longer than three days is considered too long because the stool hardens and becomes more difficult to pass. Constipation is commonly caused by inadequate fiber in the diet, consuming large amounts of dairy products, traveling, lack of exercise and mobility, not drinking enough water, stress, IBS.
Symptoms: Common symptoms of constipation include pain, vomiting, swollen abdomen and abdominal pain, infrequent and/or difficult bowel movements.
