Gastritis is an inflammation or irritation of the lining of the stomach. It is not a single disease, but rather a condition with many causes. Those suffering from gastritis experience pain and discomfort in the upper part of the abdomen. Gastritis can either be acute (brief and sudden) or chronic (long-lasting). When detected, gastritis should be treated immediately. Otherwise, it can cause severe blood loss and increase the risk of contracting stomach cancer.
Symptoms: Gastritis’ symptoms differ from person to person, and for many people there are no symptoms. The most common ones include abdominal bloating, vomiting, indigestion, nausea, hiccups, loss of appetite, unusually dark stools.
