Bronchitis
Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes, which are responsible for transporting air to and from the lungs. Bronchitis can be either acute or chronic. Acute bronchitis develops following a cold or another respiratory infection, is quite common, and usually improves within a few days, leaving no permanent effects. Chronic bronchitis is a constant irritation or inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes, often caused by smoking, and is a much more serious condition.
Symptoms: Both acute and chronic bronchitis symptoms include coughing, production of discolored mucus, fatigue, shortness of breath, slight fever and chills, and chest discomfort.
